How Movies Can Positively Affect Kids?

Movies often provide children with a framework from which to understand the world around them. Often the messages are subtle, but that doesn’t make them any less penetrating.

How does the nature of the effect films have on children differ by age?

By the age of 3, children can absorb messages from adult media. Children learn from the media.  Some of their beliefs and value systems are shaped by the media. However, younger children have a harder time distinguishing reality from fantasy. They often have trouble distinguishing between regular programming, movies, and advertisements.
