Into the wild
This is the classic when it comes to dropout films. Based on a true story, the work tells the story of a young Christopher McCandless who wants to escape the constraints of society. He burns the last of his cash and hitchhikes across North America, towards Alaska, into the wilderness without a penny in his pocket. On the way, he meets other dropouts and makes friends. A film about freedom and wanderlust. The bus in which Christopher last lived is still in the forests of Alaska today and has now become a place of pilgrimage for adventurers.
We are the Millers
In order to smuggle drugs across the Mexican border as unobtrusively as possible, David Clark (Jason Sudeikis) “borrows” a family. His borrowed wife (Jennifer Aniston), a stripper, borrowed daughter, a runaway, and borrowed virgin son drive a campervan to Mexico – well disguised as the well-mannered Miller family. This can be a cute Sunday afternoon film for the whole family.
Little Miss Sunshine
It is a very endearing and humorous film about a little girl’s dream. Actually, the work is a typical road movie in which the path is always the goal and every mishap and every setback brings the family closer together. The family drives in a vintage VW bus to a beauty pageant for children, “Little Miss Sunshine”, where the seven-year-old, chubby daughter of the family is determined to become a beauty queen.
Captain Fantastic – To the wilderness and back
Viggo Mortensen plays a father who lives completely independently with his children in the woods. Until his wife dies and he drives to his unloved in-laws in the family camper to fulfill his wife’s last wish. It is a very captivating and emotional movie that tackles themes of homeschooling and self-sufficiency.
