Every cinema-goer has experienced it at least once: getting the worst seat and being unable to enjoy the movie. Whether you like large, small, old or new theatres, we all have had those moments when you just can’t see anything on the screen because of where you’re sitting. It’s like when your car stalls for no reason and no one is there to rescue you because you did not have any contact with the best heavy duty towing.
Bring a Flashlight with You
If you’re sitting in the back rows, you might be able to see the screen just fine, but those sitting in the front few rows will have no idea what’s happening on the screen – even if they’re sitting right next to you.
This can be catastrophic for a group of friends who want to visit the cinema together but don’t want to sit next to strangers. The best way to solve this problem is to bring a flashlight with you.
You can then use it to shine it on the screen for the people sitting in the front rows. They’ll thank you for it, and you may just make new friends as you do it.
Be Early and Choose Your Seat First
Most people visit the cinema with the sole purpose of watching the film as early as possible. They arrive late, choose their seats and proceed to rush to the theatre. It’s understandable, though, since everybody wants to watch the latest movies as soon as they come out.
The problem with this is that many people are doing this at the same time, and they all want to sit in the same seats. You may be able to find a great seat if you’re one of the first people to arrive, but if you’re not, you may have to settle for one of the worst seats in the room.
Sit Near the Exit Doors
Most people prefer to sit in the middle of the cinema room because it’s the best place for watching movies. The problem with this is that the seats in the middle will be the most popular, and you may not get one.
If you sit near the exit doors, though, you’ll be closer to the front of the room and will likely get a great seat. Most people won’t be willing to sit next to the exit door on a regular basis, so you may be able to keep that seat for yourself every time you visit the cinema.
